Vincent Montalbano - Coach

Vincent comes to the Junior Rangers with an extensive and diverse hockey background.  A graduate of Avon Old Farms, Assumption College, and New England School of Law, Vincent has been involved at all levels of hockey.  Currently an NHL scout, he has worked as a Regional Manager for the US National Team Development Program, U.S. Director of Central Scouting for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, USHL Scout, Prep School coach, and the Director of a very successful elite spring and summer showcase. He is highly respected in the hockey world as a sharp, hardworking, and passionate teacher of the game.  Vincent has an extensive list of hockey connections and is uniquely positioned to help the Junior Rangers identify and develop players and to help place them in college hockey and beyond. 


Jim Henkel - Coach - 

Jim comes to the CT Junior Rangers with an extensive hockey resume. Jim played 4 years of ECAC Division 1 Hockey at RPI Institute. After graduating from RPI with a degree in Business and minor in Sports Psychology, Jim was drafted by the LA Kings and attended training camp. Jim then went on to play for the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies where he led the team to the ECHL Championship. For the next 5 seasons Jim would play in the AHL for Grand Rapids, Worcester, Lowell, and Norfolk. Jim finished his career playing 4 years with the Titans/Devils. After his playing career concluded in 2009, Jim took his passion for the game to coaching. Jim was an assistant coach at Conn College in the NESAC Conference for 2 years.




CHRIS MYHRO - Head Coach and Director of Player Development and Advancement

Chris Myhro started his hockey career in his home state of Minnesota.  He has been trained and coached by some of the best in the hockey world.  Coach Myhro earned his degree from the University of Connecticut and holds a level IV USA hockey coaching certification.  For the past 10 years Chris has been committed to developing hockey players in the tri-state area.  Coach Myhro has a unique and fun approach to maximizing players’ potential and advancing players to higher levels of hockey.


In high school he played for Benilde St. Margaret’s preparatory school and won the Minnesota State Championship.  In pursuit of furthering his education and playing division 1 hockey, Chris signed with the Fargo Moorhead Jets and lead the team to the National Championship of Junior A hockey.  Following a successful junior A career he committed to play for the Huskies at UCONN.  After early success at Connecticut, Myhro had opportunities to play professionally in Europe and North America.  Coach Myhro has experience playing professionally in France, Austria, and multiple farm teams of NHL.


Coach Myhro resides in CT with his fiancée Krista and is committed to developing and advancing prospective student athletes on and off the ice.  





Peter Ferraro is a Pleasantville, NY native. Peter played Division One college hockey for Sacred Heart University. In 2005-06 he scored six goals and tallied six assists for 11 total points. As a senior he notched a career high 15 points. After graduating, Peter went on to play for the ECHL.

Jeff Hamilton - 

A former National Hockey League player with the Chicago Blackhawks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Carolina Hurricanes, and New York Islanders and Yale University’s All-Time leading scorer, Jeff has dedicated his life to hockey for the last 30 years. He has coached at Division 1 College and Prep School prior to building the Connecticut Junior Rangers and has a deep list of contacts at all levels.  As a graduate of Yale University and Avon Old Farms, Coach Hamilton prides himself on inspiring kids to excel athletically and academically.  In addition to benefitting from his NHL experience, Jeff’s high paced practices, incorporate techniques and drills learned while training and playing professionally in Russia, Finland, Sweden, and Switzerland.
